Privacy policy

Somatic Health Labs, Inc. makes The Microplastic Interceptor. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website (somatichealthlabs.com), our store (shop.somatichealthlabs.com) or our emails, and what we do with it.

The short version

We collect what we need to take your reservation, ship your order and keep you updated, plus basic information about how people use our website so we can improve it and see which of our ads work. We don't ask for health information, and you can ask us to see or delete your information at any time.

What we collect

When you reserve or order: your name, email, shipping and billing address, phone number if you give it, and your order and subscription details. Your card details go straight to our payment processor; we never see your full card number.
When you join our waitlist: your email address and where you signed up.
When you email us: whatever you include in your message.
When you use our website or store: basic technical information, such as the pages you visit, where you click and scroll, the site that referred you, your device and browser type, and your IP address (which can show your approximate location).

We don't ask for health information. If you choose to share any in an email to us, we use it only to reply to you.

How we use it

To take your reservation, charge you when your kit ships, ship your order and manage your subscription.
To email you about your reservation and, if you've signed up, send updates and offers. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails anytime.
To answer your questions.
To understand how our website is used, fix problems and improve it.
To see which of our ads work and to show our ads to people who have visited our site.
To prevent fraud and meet our legal obligations.

Cookies and similar tools

Like most websites, ours uses a few standard tools to work properly and to understand how it is being used:

Advertising. An advertising pixel tells us which of our ads lead to visits and reservations, and lets us show our ads to people who have already visited our site.
Site analytics. An analytics tool shows us how visitors move through our pages, such as where they click and scroll, so we can fix anything confusing or broken.
Email. When you join our waitlist, our email provider stores your email address so we can send you updates.
Hosting. The services that host our website and load its fonts receive basic technical information, like your IP address, when a page loads.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Who we share it with

We share information only with companies that help us run the business, and only what they need:

Service providers: our store and checkout platform (Shopify) and its payment processing, our email provider, our website host and, once we ship, our fulfillment and shipping partners. Shopify also runs some features under its own privacy policy.
Advertising platforms: the social media platforms where we advertise receive information from our advertising pixel, such as visits and reservations. Under some state laws this counts as "sharing" for targeted advertising, and you can opt out on our Your Privacy Choices page.
When the law requires it, to protect our rights, or if our business is sold or merged.

We don't sell your personal information for money.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the personal information we have about you, correct it, delete it, or get a copy to take elsewhere, and to opt out of "sharing" for targeted advertising using the link above. Our store treats a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as an opt-out request. We don't respond to other "Do Not Track" signals.

To make a request, email founder@somatichealthlabs.com. We may need to confirm your identity first, and you can use an authorized agent. We'll respond within the time the law requires, and we won't treat you differently for using these rights. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our response.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you have a reservation or subscription with us, and afterward only as long as we need it for legal, tax and accounting purposes. Waitlist emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

Security

We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information, but no system is perfectly secure.

Children

Our products are made for adults, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Where your information is processed

We're based in the United States. Our providers store information in the United States and may process it in other countries.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top, and we'll email you if the change is significant.
